Lamberts Betaine HCl with Pepsin

Lamberts Betaine HCl 324mg/Pepsin 5mg 180 Tablets provides additional stomach acidity, as Betaine HCl releases hydrochloric acid after swallowing, identical to that produced naturally by the stomach. Hydrochloric acid has several different functions; for example it sterilises the ingested food and activates a powerful enzyme called pepsin that breaks down protein, as well as allowing vitamin B12 to be extracted from foodstuffs.

  • 180 tablets.
  • Aids overall Digestion.
  • Provides additional acidity to the stomach.
  • Activates enzymes that break down protein.
  • Allows B12 to be extracted from sources of food.
  • Designed to dissolve in the stomach where the acidity is required.
  • Betaine HCL releases hydrochloric acid after swallowing - the same acid that is produced naturally by the stomach.

As we get older the body's natural production of hydrochloric acid can decline, however its importance for the breakdown of Food in the gut remains unchanged. Lamberts Betaine HCl Tablets are designed to dissolve in the stomach where the acidity is required. They also help with the general detoxification processes in the Body, which are essential for metabolizing and absorbing food, and are particularly required for assimilating proteins, Calcium, vitamin B12 and Iron.

What is Betaine Hydrochloride?

Betaine Hydrochloride is an organic compound and vitamin-like substance found in many different foods such as sugar beets, spinach and grains. It is currently recommended by medical professionals, as a supplemental source of hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

What does betaine hydrochloride do for the body?

Research has confirmed that Betaine HCl benefits those suffering from digestive upsets such as hypochlorhydria, a deficiency of stomach acid production. In most cases a healthy stomach can produce enough gastric acid to kill off harmful organisms. But when people experience stomach acid deficiencies, they are more likely to have bacterial and intestinal infections, as well as an increased level of harmful organisms.

In medicine, Betaine HCl is recognised as a powerful digestive aid for those who may have been a poor diet, experience prolonged dehydration and/or generalised Stress. It has also been shown to offer digestive support to elderly individuals and perimenopausal women. It is also a crucial compound in balancing homocysteine levels, a condition related to severe heart disease.
