What is Bilberry?
Bilberries (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) are a fruit similar to blueberries, which is why they are often referred to as 'European blueberries'. The dried, ripe bilberry fruit and plant leaves are often used to make traditional remedies.

Medicinal use of bilberries dates back to World War II, where Royal Air Force pilots in consumed them in a jam to improve their night vision. These days, bilberry is still recommended for improving eyesight, including night vision.

The use of Eyebright dates back to the 14th century, where it was thought to support the eyes and sinuses, however these days it is often used as an ingredient in eye drops or eye washes.
