After the heartbreak of a semi-final loss in the cup to Crawley to the jubilant scenes of a thrilling 5-0 win in the league just a few days later against Whyteleafe, it was certainly an eventful week of mixed emotions for the women of Worthing Football Club. The late Jimmy Greaves once said that football was a 'funny old game', and if the busy period of January fixtures is anything to go by so far, you certainly cannot disagree with him. I am sure there are more ups and downs to come on this football rollercoaster, however with the Worthing ladies sitting 5th in the league just 5 points off second place New London Lionesses, and with a game in hand, let us hope that 2022 is all about that final promotional push.
In week 9 of Outside the Box, I wanted to call upon a brand that I truly believe could help the women of Worthing towards that summit of second place in the league. I’ve heard that athletes, from beginners to professional sportsmen & women, had all reported a gain of Energy and endurance during their workout, when including Udos Choice Ultimate Oil Blend 250ml into their pre-workout regime. Luckily for me Udo’s Choice kindly answered my call - a big thank you to Abby and Clare at Udo’s Choice for sending the samples!
What is Udo's Choice Good For?
Udos Choice Ultimate Oil was developed by Udo Erasmus, Ph. D., who spent over half a decade researching the roles of omega 3 & 6 Essential Fatty Acids (or EFA’s) play in the Body. He then formulated this unique product, which tackles the four most neglected areas of nutrition in the typical diets of western populations; microbiotics, greens, digestive enzymes, and of course essential ‘healthy’ fats.
To truly comprehend all the ways EFA’s omega 3 & 6 are crucial to our systems is no small thing, and this is why Dr Erasmus created Udos Choice Ultimate Oil - to take out the difficult task of having to balance multiple omega sources, and having it in one convenient bottle.
Can Omegas be plant-based?
Yes! Every ingredient in Udos Choice Ultimate Oil is vegan and has been carefully selected to make it easier for those looking to add a plant-based omega source to their diets. This also allows for the entire production process to be certified organic.
What are plant-based Omegas good for?
EFAs play a key role in many functions including Heart Health, the Brain & Mind, Skin and eyesight. Whether omegas come from plants or sea animals (e.g. Fish Oils), the resulting fatty acids have the same health benefits. However, the additional advantages of plant-based or ‘top of the chain omegas’, which are found in Nuts & Seeds amongst other things, provide the body with all the fatty acids and not just the isolated ones from sea animals.
Can increased omega-3 consumption benefit athletes?
Yes! The omega-3 Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) in Udos Choice Ultimate Oil is the ideal way to keep an athletic performer's heart healthy & support muscle recovery. Experts suggest that omega-3 fatty acids reduce muscle recovery times by minimising the overall amount of muscular damage sustained during physical activity.
Is Udo's oil good for inflammation?
Yes! The soccer players of Worthing Women should know that a key benefit of omega 3 is its ability to battle inflammation. The constant aerobic activity associated with football will increase the oxidative Stress levels of a player, not only in their blood but also in tissues like the skeletal muscles. This also results in the production of inflammatory substances called free radicals, which can cause cellular damages and subsequent Inflammation.
Udos Choice Ultimate Oil also includes the omega-6 Linoleic Acid (LA), which is separate to how ALA works and is necessary for the anti-inflammatory actions of the Immune System - footballers need to keep on top of their immunity, particularly during the cold months of January & February.
Conclusion: Why is Udo's the obvious Choice for Worthing FC?
Udos Choice Ultimate Oil is a premium liquid product with no unnecessary fillers or artificial ingredients. Designed by an industry expert in healthy fats and nutrition (Dr Udo Erasmus), this convenient supplement can be incorporated into a footballers daily diet with minimum effort - simply add or drizzle over food or drinks. Alternatively, a Worthing Women's Football player may wish to consume it straight off the spoon in the changing room, just before they take to the field for training or a competitive match. They should however, always remember not to heat the oil as it could damage the delicate essential fatty acids within it.
