Naturya Chia Seeds 300g are potent little bundles of energy with generous doses of omega-3, fibre and protein. The Chia plant is native to southern Mexico and it’s seeds have been part of the human diet for thousands of years. Nowadays Chia seeds are popular with runners, many of whom are inspired by the Tarahumara tribe, who consume chia to help fuel their long-distance runs. The EU currently demands that chia seeds are only to be sold as an additive for bread products, so with this in mind, suggested uses include; in bread recipe's, dough balls, teacakes or tortillas.

  • 300g.

Chia plants are harvested between November & January, and Naturya Chia Seeds are easily removed from the plant. After the crop is harvested the product is already 96% pure seed. The seeds are then passed through a vibration cleaning mechanism and over magnets to ensure their purity.

Chia seeds are a great source of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is a form of essential fatty acid. This omega-3 fatty acid help's to protect the body against heart disease and improve the blood’s cholesterol balance. Chia seeds are also high in fibre, antioxidants, calcium and protein. Fibre is an important part of our diet, which can help reduce cholesterol and assist digestion, while the protein content is ideal for vegetarians as it has no cholesterol. Chia seeds have a high portion of antioxidants too, and their calcium content is 5 times more than milk!
