Organic Italian Red Pepper Pesto

Mr Organic Red Pepper Pesto is a mouthwatering rich, creamy red Pesto made with the finest sweet red peppers from Puglia, Italy. Brilliant on bruschetta and tantalizingly tasty in tagliatelle, this rich pesto packs a flavoursome punch!

Serving Suggestion:

Baked Red Pesto Meatballs

You will need the following ingredients:

  • Salt & pepper.
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 500g Beef mince.
  • 50g Breadcrumbs.
  • 1 Lightly beaten egg.
  • 25g Grated parmesan.
  • 3 tbsp Freshly chopped Parsley.
  • 400g Canned Chopped Tomatoes.
  • 1 Large red onion (1/3 finely chopped)
  • 4 tbsp Mr Organic Red Pepper Pesto.
  • 5 tbsp Plain Flour (seasoned with salt & black pepper)

Firstly, mix together all the meatball ingredients (apart from the flour & oil) in a large bowl, then roll 'golf-ball' sized amounts of the mixture into the flour. Dust of any excess flour and preheat your oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas mark 6. In a large frying pan heat and gently brown the meatballs in oil for five minutes. Tip the metablls into a roasting tray or ovenproof dish and leave to one side while you prepare the sauce. Fry the slice onion for ten minutes over a medium heat until golden, and then add the tomatoes with a little salt & pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer, stir in the Mr Organic Red Pepper Pesto, then pour over the meatballs. Bake in the oven for twenty minutes until the meatballs are cooked and the sauce is bubbling.
