Fish4Ever Mackerel is fished by the MSC/ex MSC fleet in the Atlantic sea in a fairly wide area North of Scotland, following the mackerel migration. This mackerel is fished and then immediately packed in Scotland, with only the addition of local, fresh spring water.

Mackerel has the highest quantity of heart-healthy omega 3 and omega 6 than any other fish. This oily fish is highly recommended for a healthy diet, as it is rich in essential oils, minerals and vitamins, with the vitamins including A, B6, B12, C, D, E & K.

2012 was an odd year for Northern Mackerel - abundance in the waters marred by a mega fishing dispute with Iceland and Faroe Islands who are not respecting catch quotas and therefore over-fishing. The MSC logo will probably go sometime this year but FACT remains the Scottish fleet has done an admirable job trying to manage this resource well - and we say support it!
