  • 60 capsules.
  • Involved in red & white blood cells formation.
  • A tripeptide containing glutamic acid, cysteine & glycine.
  • Contains good levels of each amino acid and glutathione.
  • Essential for Phase II liver detoxification (glutathione-S-transferase).
  • May support detoxification especially in individuals with a high toxic burden.

What is Glutathione good for?

Glutathione is found in all cells in the Body, with the highest concentration being found in the liver. It is deemed non-essential because it does not have to be obtained from food (as cysteine is relatively rare in foodstuffs, it is this amino acid that is the rate-limiting factor in glutathione synthesis by the body). Glutathione forms the enzyme glutathione peroxidise which is one of the body’s most powerful Antioxidants.

What is Glutathione?

Glutathione is an antioxidant that prevents damage to important cellular components caused by reactive oxygen species such as  peroxides and free radicals. Glutathione is converted to its oxidized form, glutathione disulfide (GSSG), once it reduces the disulfide bonds formed within cytoplasmic proteins to cysteines by serving as an electron donor. Once glutathione is oxidised, it can be reduced by glutathione reductase, using NADPH (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate) as an electron donor. The ratio of reduced glutathione to oxidized glutathione within cells is often used as a measure of cellular toxicity.

The proteins in Food and in the human body are combinations of chemical unites called amino acids. A diet deficient in even one amino acid can have a damaging effect on health. Supplements such as Lamberts L-Glutathione Complex, may be needed to help the body work more efficiently and to treat disease. Amino acid supplements are more effective when they do not have to compete with the amino acids present in high-protein foods. For this reason, it is best to take supplements at half an hour before of after meals.

Directions of Use

Take 1 to 3 Lamberts L-Glutathione Complex Capsules daily with water or fruit juice, or as directed by a practitioner or pharmacist. An amino acid is best taken half an hour before any meal or at bedtime.
