Where do yeast flakes come from?

Nutritional yeast is made by culturing a yeast in a nutrient-rich medium (glucose) for many days. Once ready, the yeast is deactivated under hot temperatures and then washed, dried and prepared into flakes.

What are yeast flakes used for?

Yeast flakes are a highly nutritious Vegan Food product that could be used as an alternative to cheese sauce or to season vegetables. These protein-rich flakes have a savoury, nutty/cheesy-like flavour and are packed full of Vitamins, Minerals and Antioxidants too!
