LAB4B is the latest in BioCare's industry-leading LAB4 probiotics and guarantees ten billion live bacteria per daily intake. It was used in a large trial of several hundred pregnant women and their new-born babies in Swansea, South Wales. The trial looked to identify whether or not supplementing a mother's diet (& subsequently that of their baby) in their last trimester of pregnancy with good bacteria could help reduce the incidence of allergy when the child becomes an infant. The result of this trial showed that the incidence of eczema and other allergic conditions were reduced by about 50% at two years of age, compared to those babies on an inactive placebo formula.
