Lepicol Original Formula 180g
Lepicol Original Formula contains gentle psyllium husk and inulin, which together help to maintain a smooth transit throughout the digestive tract. This natural combination of soluble dietary fibre go a long way to help provide the recommended daily intake.
Fibre is a key part of the body's dietary intake, as it helps to maintain a healthy bowel. A lack fibre may lead to digestive complications such as constipation and other chronic digestive disorders. The soluble fibre content found in these sachets is similar to fibre found in barley and oats. As it absorbs liquid in the intestines, swells and forms a bulky stool, it may be used to help treat the symptoms of constipation.

Psyllium fibre comes from the outer coating, or 'husk' of the Plantago Ovata Forsk plant's seeds. It is not wheat, and is therefore suitable for those with gluten and wheat intolerances. The third key ingredient of Lepicol Original is five strains of live bacteria, which include lactobacillus rhamnosus, bifidobacterium bifidum, lactobacillus acidophilus, lactobacillus plantarum and lactobacillus bulgaricus. This combination of friendly bacteria may help to treat the symptoms of diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
The Lepicol (Healthy Bowels) Company was founded in 1999 by Peter Jackson, a sufferer of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Peter was diagnosed with this serious bowel condition after a long period of stress coupled with extensive foreign travel. Over the years Peter tried various medications and lifestyle suggestions but was unable to find any real relief. He began to lose weight and became concerned over whether or not he was digesting his food or absorbing nutrients effectively. This prompted him to look into a more 'natural remedy' to help manage his IBS symptoms.
After much research and consultation with those in the health food industry Peter eventually discovered a three-in-one combination of natural ingredients, which when mixed in the right proportions, all provided sufficient relief. These days, inulin, live bacterial cultures and psyllium husk fibre are still used as the active ingredients in all Lepicol products. These natural food supplements are produced by Probiotics International Ltd (Protexin), a UK based company in which Peter still works alongisde. As for his symptoms, Peter no longer suffers with IBS and firmly believes in the saying that ‘food truly is your medicine'.
