This method ensures that Lamberts Lactase Complex is one of the highest strength and best value products available to practitioners with no compromise on the quality.

  • 60 Tablets.
  • Suitable for vegetarians.
  • Suitable for long term use.
  • Reduces the symptoms of lactose intolerance.

Lamberts Lactase Complex 60 Tablets contain Lactase, a digestive enzyme required for the breakdown of the milk sugar Lactose. Lactase is usually produced by the Body in the small intestines, but if little or no lactase is produced, undigested lactose moves into the colon where it is fermented. This leads to the production of carbon dioxide, hydrogen and organic acids that result in wind, cramps and diarrhoea.

What is lactose intolerance?

Lactose intolerance is not a life threatening condition, however it can make individuals feel very unwell and although eliminating milk based products is one solution, it can prove impractical as well as resulting in dietary restrictions. Also known as lactase deficiency and hypolactasia, lactose intolerance is the inability to digest lactose, a sugar found in milk and derived dairy products. Lactose intolerant individuals have insufficient levels of lactase, an enzyme that catalyzes hydrolysis of lactose into glucose and galactose, in their digestive system.

Signs of lactose intolerance:

The symptoms of lactose intolerance generally include abdominal bloating and cramps, nausea, rumbling stomach, flatulence, diarrhoea and vomiting upon consumption of significant amounts of lactose. Some research has indicated that milk consumption by lactose intolerant individuals may be a significant cause of inflammatory bowel disease.

The main symptom of lactose intolerance is an adverse reaction to products containing lactose (primarily milk). The aforementioned symptoms appear 30 minutes to 2 hours after consumption. The level of symptoms increase with the amount of lactose consumed, however most lactose-intolerant people can tolerate a certain level of lactose in their diet without any serious effects.
