Enterosgel is an oral gastrointestinal adsorbent (a substance, taken to adsorb gases, toxins, & bacteria in the stomach & intestines) which is clinically proven as an effective adjuvant treatment of diarrhoea, certain allergies and IBS.
What is the active ingredient in Enterosgel?
The active ingredient in Enterosgel is the substance polymethylsiloxane polyhydrate (methylsilicic acid hydrogel), an organosilicon compound that has a porous structure, and a gel-like consistency.
How does Enterosgel differ to other brands of anti-diarrhoeal antimotility treatments?
Most anti-diarrhoeal antimotility medicines contain Loperamide, an opioid drug that works to slow down and reduce bowel movements. Loperamide is not recommended for children under twelve years of age or for the treatment of viral diarrhoea. Unlike other anti-diarrhoeal medication, Enterosgel is drug-free and therefore has an excellent safety profile - there have been no reports of adverse reactions from using Enterosgel in over twenty years!
