Which Omega 3 is best for pregnancy?
Omega-3 fatty acids are vital for a woman's body and play an important role during Pregnancy, for both the expectant mother and her foetus. Omega-3 contributes to the development of the brain and eyes, and while oily fish tends to be the best source of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), some women simply will not consume enough of it through diet. If you're one of these women who doesn't think they are getting an adequate amount of fish, then the omega-3s in Equazen Mumomega Pregnancy 30 Capsules could help to bridge the nutritional gap when the recommended intake of DHA is not met.
Where does omega come from?
Equazen omega-3s, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are from Oils of anchovies and sardines from the Southern Pacific and Morocco sea. All of their fish oils are from harvesting fish stock where there is little to no demand for human consumption or from the trimmings during processing fish to ensure no part of the fish is wasted. Equazen omega-6, gamma linolenic acid (GLA), is solely from Evening Primrose Oil.
What are essential fatty acids?
Dietary fats are part of our everyday diet. They belong to a larger group of compounds called lipids, which help build the cell membranes. Lipids are also vital to our central nervous system and account for approximately 50-60% of the weight of our brain. Of these brain lipids, approximately 35% are made up of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), which include omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are PUFAs that cannot be made or stored by the body and must be provided by Food or supplements.
