How to use a Mooncup:
It may sound obvious but some Mooncup users are so keen to get started that they forget to read the user guide that comes with the Size A Mooncup Menstrual Cup. It covers pretty much everything and includes clear diagrams and some troubleshooting tips. Be sure to boil or clean your Size A Mooncup thoroughly with sterilising solution or tablets before first use.
It doesn’t matter whether you’ve just started your periods or you’ve been menstruating for years, the Size A Mooncup – like anything new – may take a little time to get used to. You may get the knack first time but on average it can take up to three periods to get used to it. If you’re feeling frustrated or tense just put it away and come back to it another time. And while you gain confidence, you can wear a back-up pad. You might get some leaking at the beginning while you’re practicing.
Can I wear the Size A Mooncup overnight?
Yes. You can wear the Size A Mooncup for up to eight hours, emptying and rinsing it before going to bed and then again as soon as you wake up.
*If you have heavy periods you may need to empty your Mooncup more often.
Can I use the Size A Mooncup when I have thrush (candida)?
No. It is not recommended to use the Size A Mooncup during Candidiasis, or while you’re being treated for a candida infection. You can start to use the Mooncup once all treatment is completed and you are clear of symptoms.
