What is Ubiquinol?
Ubiquinol is the reduced active form of Co-Enzyme Q10 (ubiquinone). And like, Co-Enzyme Q10, it is critical to the cellular ATP (energy) production cycle. Without the presence of both of these within the body's cells, cellular Energy cannot be generated or sustained. This vitamin-like substance is also important as an antioxidant, which is associated with various health benefits.
It has taken scientists over a decade to produce ubiquinol for use in supplements and now several years after this success, Lamberts are delighted to include it in this product.
CoQ-10 can be found in a wide variety of foods, such as liver, kidney, beef, sardines, mackerel and Peanuts.
Why is CoQ-10 so important for over 40's?
The only way to increase ubiquinol levels in the body was, until recently, from the conversion of it from co-enzyme Q10, which research has shown becomes increasingly difficult with age. CoQ-10 has also been found to support collagen production by reducing collagen breakdown, reducing the effect of ageing on the skin. Collagen levels are known to decline with age so it is crucial to maintain them to support cell regeneration.
