Honey is sweet, syrup-like Food substance made by bees using nectar from flowers. Viscous and fragrant, the flavour, colour and consistency of honey often vary but as a general rule the darker the colour, the stronger it is.

Is honey good for you?

Honey can be used as a spead on toast and Bread, in Drinks & Beverages (as a sweetener) or in your home-baked goods. High in Antioxidants and carbohydrates for strength and Energy, honey is often used by athletes, who ultilise its natural healing powers to build up their body’s Immune System. Honey has also been linked with other health benefits like improved Heart Health and wound healing.

Is honey better for you than sugar?

With a lower GI value than Sugar, honey does not rapidly raise blood sugar levels. However, it is sweeter than sugar and has slightly more calories per teaspoon, so it is recommended to regularly monitor your portion sizes and enjoy it in moderation.
