    Chestnuts have been used as a versatile cooking ingredient since the Roman times, and to this day, continue to be a popular addition to sweet Cakes, Desserts & Puddings or savoury stuffing. With a rich and sweet flavour, chestnuts are traditionally roasted and served during Christmas time with sprouts and/or a selection of meats.

    Are chestnuts good for you?

    Even after they are cooked chestnuts remain a good source of Potassium, Antioxidants (gallic acid & ellagic acid), Magnesium, Vitamin B and Vitamin C. With this in mind they may benefit Heart Health.

    Are chestnuts high in carbs?

    Yes! Unlike other nuts, chestnuts do indeed offer a higher amount of carbohydrates in each & every serving. They are full of unsaturated (good) fats too but are much lower in protein compared to other nuts.
