How did Ashton and Parsons come about?

Ashton & Parsons established premises at 17 Wormwood Street, Bishopsgate, London in 1867. By 1890 they were first advertised in the Liverpool Herald (NSW), and by 1910 their well-publicised 'Baby’s Notebook' was read by millions of new parents, who took advantage of its useful hints and tips to aid their baby’s well-being. During the first World War, it was difficult to deliver medicines to the front line but Ashton & Parsons employees went to work on creating a cabinet to dry medicines into tablets. This made them smaller, more manageable and ultimately easier to distribute to the front line. After surviving two World Wars, fast forward to the early 2000's and Ashton & Parsons is acquired by Alliance Pharmaceuticals Ltd in 2011. The following year it is categorised as a Traditional Herbal Remedy (THR), and in 2013, Ashton & Parsons new owners become a member of the British Herbal Medicines Society (BHMA).
