What is Terpinen-4-OL?

Terpinen-4-OL is one of the largest terpenes (volatile unsaturated hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of plants) found in Tea Tree oil and is thought to be responsible for most of it's antibacterial, antiseptic and antifungal properties.
